|  | Julián Rodríguez - Investigaciones | UIS | Director Grupo de investigación CEMOS - Facultad de Ingenierías Fisicomecánicas, UIS | Julián Rodríguez-Ferreira, es ingeniero electrónico de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. Realizó estudios de especialista en instrumentación para Astrofísica en el Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (España). En Francia realizó estudios de Master en Astrofísica y Master en ingeniería espacial en el Observatorio de París y en la Universidad Paris-Diderot. Es doctor en Astrofísica de la Universidad de París-Sud donde trabajó en el Institut d’Astrophysique Spatiale (IAS) en el equipo que, entre otros, confirmó por primera vez la existencia de agua en Marte y que construyó el aterrizador Philae de la misión Rosetta, el cual se posó sobre la superficie del cometa Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Como científico, Julián ha trabajado en la preparación del satélite para climatología "SMOS" de la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA), la misión al planeta Mercurio "BepiColombo" de la ESA y el futuro telescopio espacial “Euclid” de la ESA. Después de un postdoctorado en el Centre de Physique des Particules de Marsella (Francia) Julián regresó a Colombia a finales de 2015 en un programa de repatriación de científicos para vincularse como investigador postdoctoral del Grupo de Investigación en Relatividad y Gravitación. Actualmente es profesor de planta de la Escuela de Ingeniería Electrónica de la Universidad Industrial de Santander donde cumple funciones de Coordinador académico, director del grupo de investigación CEMOS (A1 Colciencias), director de un semillero en cohetería y otro en instrumentación científica. Sus líneas de investigación actuales son el desarrollo de instrumentos y plataformas para la observación terrestre y la radioastronomía. Julián Rodríguez-Ferreira, is an electronic engineer from the Industrial University of Santander. He studied Instrumentation Specialist for Astrophysics at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (Spain). In France he studied Master in Astrophysics and Master in Space Engineering at the Paris Observatory and at the Paris-Diderot University. He is a Doctor in Astrophysics from the University of Paris-Sud where he worked at the Institut d'Astrophysique Spatiale (IAS) in the team that, among others, confirmed for the first time the existence of water on Mars and that built the mission's Philae lander Rosetta, which landed on the surface of comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko. He is currently a professor at the School of Electronic Engineering of the Industrial University of Santander where he serves as academic coordinator, director of the research group CEMOS (A1 Colciencias), director of a seedbed in rockets and another in scientific instrumentation. His current lines of research are the development of instruments and platforms for terrestrial observation and radio astronomy.
